After a long day at the Peace Museum, we headed off to look for a restaurant that we'd read about that served the best okonomiyaki in town. Okonomiyaki is Hiroshima's signature dish, and it consists of a giant fried patty with a layer of batter (much like a crepe), cabbage, pork, noodles and eggs. The whole thing is then covered with a sweet tangy sauce. So good!
On the menu we had the option between different noodles and half/full orders. Garrett and I each got a half order and tried udon noodles and soba noodles.
Now, the longer I stay in Japan, the more confused I become about how petite everyone who lives here is. A half order was HUGE. And I'd also read that it's rude to leave leftovers on your plate at the end of a meal. So with a bit of help from Garrett, I finished my meal, but these dishes were clearly not designed for someone with a smaller appetite (hence my expression of worry/concern near the end of my meal).
